Custom Cabinetry in Sacramento, California
Thoughtfully Crafted Cabinetry That Fits Your Home And Lifestyle
What separates cabinetry that simply fills a room from cabinetry built to last a lifetime? At Old Soul Cabinetry & Millwork Inc., that question guides every custom cabinetry project we take on, from the first sketch to the final coat of finish. Our team blends traditional woodworking methods with a modern design sensibility, shaping pieces built specifically for how you cook, gather, and live at home. We treat each kitchen, bathroom, or built in as its own puzzle worth solving carefully, and we never rush the details that make cabinetry feel truly custom.
Families across Sacramento, California and the surrounding towns bring us in because our cabinet makers read the local architecture well, from mid century ranch homes to newer open concept builds. Whether your home calls for custom kitchen storage or a fitted home office, we design cabinetry that suits both your neighborhood's character and the everyday demands of your household.
Every custom build we finish carries 13 years of hands on woodworking behind it, from hardwood selection through the final pass of finish. We hold to precise joinery and premium materials, and we back the result at each step. What keeps homeowners returning is cabinetry that fits exactly and holds up for decades, not just on the day it goes in. To start planning your space, reach us through our contact page.
Our Custom Cabinetry Services
Kitchen Cabinetry
Kitchens work best when storage matches the way you actually cook. We design cabinet layouts around your appliances, counter space, and daily habits, building drawers, shelving, and pull outs that keep everyday tools within reach.
Bathroom Vanities
Bathroom vanities take a beating from moisture and daily use, so we always build ours with finishes that resist warping and staining. Sizing, drawer configuration, and countertop pairing are all tailored to your bathroom footprint.
Custom Built In Cabinetry
Awkward corners, sloped ceilings, and unused wall space become functional storage through carefully fitted built in cabinetry. Each piece is carefully measured and constructed to match your room precisely, blending seamlessly into the surrounding architecture.
Pantry and Storage Cabinetry
Cluttered pantries and mudrooms benefit from purposeful shelving and drawer systems built around what you store day to day. We plan configurations that keep pantry goods, linens, and household items organized and easy to find.
Home Office Cabinetry
Working from home deserves a dedicated space that stays organized. We build desks, file drawers, and shelving suited to your equipment and workflow, giving remote workers a calm, clutter free environment tailored to daily use.
Entertainment Center Cabinetry
Media rooms and living areas gain a polished focal point with built in entertainment cabinetry. Cable management, ventilation for electronics, and adjustable shelving are planned into every design so your setup stays tidy and functional.
Benefits of Custom Cabinetry
Tailored to Your Space
Every inch of your home is different, and your cabinetry should reflect that. We measure rooms carefully and design storage around your habits, so nothing feels forced into a space it was never intended for.
Premium Materials
Solid hardwoods and quality plywood construction stand up to years of daily use far better than particleboard alternatives. You get drawers that glide smoothly and cabinet boxes that hold their shape through seasonal humidity changes.
Handcrafted Joinery
Traditional joinery techniques like dovetail drawers and mortise and tenon frames add strength most factory cabinetry skips entirely. You notice the difference every time a drawer opens smoothly instead of sticking, warping, or rattling loosely.
Personalized Design Consultation
Sitting down with a designer before any wood is cut means your vision shapes the final result. You walk through layout options, finishes, and hardware choices until every detail matches exactly what you originally pictured.
Long Term Durability
Cabinetry built to last means fewer replacements and repairs down the road. You get storage solutions constructed to hold up under daily wear, protecting your investment for years rather than needing frequent upkeep or fixes.
Increased Home Value
Well built cabinetry is one of the first things buyers notice when touring a kitchen or bathroom. You gain a lasting upgrade that adds tangible appeal and value whenever you decide to sell your home.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a custom cabinetry project usually take from design to installation?
Timelines vary based on project size and material availability, but most custom builds move from initial design to finished installation within eight to twelve weeks. We keep you updated at every stage along the way.
What wood species do you recommend for custom cabinets in Sacramento, CA homes?
Old Soul Cabinetry & Millwork Inc. often recommends maple, oak, and walnut for durability and grain. With 13 years serving Sacramento, CA, our team helps you pick a species suited to your style and budget.
Can custom cabinetry be built around existing plumbing, appliances, or unusual room shapes?
Absolutely. Our builders measure every obstacle, from vent stacks to sloped ceilings, before construction begins. Cabinetry is then carefully fabricated to fit those exact conditions, so nothing feels awkward or forced once installation is complete.
Do you offer design consultations before starting a custom cabinetry project?
Yes. Every project starts with a consultation where we discuss layout, storage needs, and finish preferences. This conversation shapes the design plan, giving you a clear picture before any materials are ever ordered or cut.
What finish options are available for custom cabinetry?
Options range from natural wood stains to painted finishes in nearly any color palette. Matte, satin, and semi gloss sheens are all available, letting you coordinate new cabinetry with countertops, flooring, and overall room design.
How do you ensure custom cabinets fit perfectly the first time?
Precise on site measurements are taken before any building begins, and templates are created for irregular spaces. Combined with careful shop fabrication, this process minimizes gaps and ensures a clean, accurate installation on delivery day.
Is custom cabinetry more expensive than off the shelf options?
Custom builds typically cost more upfront than stock cabinetry, but the difference shows in materials, construction quality, and fit. Many homeowners find the added durability and personalized design worth the investment over the long run.
What areas do you serve for custom cabinetry projects?
Homeowners across Sacramento, CA and the surrounding region turn to Old Soul Cabinetry & Millwork Inc. for custom builds. Our team travels for consultations and installations, bringing craftsmanship and care into every neighborhood we visit.

Purchased this pen for my husband. Kyle contacted me right away to answer my questions so I could put my order in. His work is amazing! In person this pen is so much better than the picture can show. He was great, quick, and followed up to make sure we got it. My husband LOVES it! Thanks so much Kyle. I look forward to seeing what’s next

Requested to make a capsule bed, they tried their best to fulfill my request, even outside of their expertise, with a fair price point for the project. The project was completed in less than three weeks. The bed was really well-made and will last for a long time. I would like to thank Kyle for taking the time to make my bed.
